
Wendy Federico — Special Education Admissions Counselor
Wendy Federico is a former admissions director at two of the top NYC special education schools with over 30 years of experience. Wendy’s distinguished background includes advanced degrees in clinical social work, early childhood education, and school administration. While Director of Admissions at The Churchill School Wendy served on the executive board of ISAAGNY, The Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York.
While serving as Director of Admissions, Wendy was also the liaison between the school and the CSE and attended all IEP and CSE meetings as the representative for the school and parent’s advocate.
Wendy co-founded the group of special education admissions professionals in 2005, now known as T-SSeal, (Tri-State Special Education Admissions Leaders), and now serves on their executive board as Co-President.
Since 2018 Wendy has served as an adjunct professor in the graduate division of Concordia College, teaching courses in Child Development in the Special Needs Child, and Teaching Students With Autism and Severe/Profound Disabilities.
As a tireless advocate for the educational rights of children with special learning needs Wendy first reviews the historical documentation to get a sense of the student’s level of function, as well as the services that have been in place to support those needs. Wendy can assist parents in designing and executing strategies for pursuing both mainstream and special education options.
